During my 15 months of treatment for Hodgkin's Disease I had the great fortune of being chosen as a subject by Ian David Aronson (left) for his documentary, "Tell Them Your'e Fine." Ian followed three cancer patients over a 6 month period, there was an English fellow with a brain tumor, a woman with breast cancer, and me with Hodgkin's Disease. It was a pleasure to work with such a talented up and coming director, and I was pleased with the results when I watched Ian's film at the Premiere this last June. Ian has just signed with a distributer with the hopes of his film reaching other patients, medical students, nurses, doctors, hospital social workers, families of cancer patients, and anyone else who could benefit from the hearing the patients view of what it is like to deal with cancer.
Not only does Ian's film carry a strong message about the downs of having cancer, but Ian was also able to show the humor and joy that having a life threatening disease can bring out in those fighting for their life. Plus, I must say that I had the most hairdos in the entire film, and I am especially proud of my bald headed scene!
