Mental Imagery
What people do with mental imagery is create images of a situation as they wish to see it.
They form an image, which allows the person to make a clear mental statement of what they want the outcome to be. For myself, I get a feeling of power from my images, because I am directing them in my own visualization movie. I do take after take of each image by picturing them again and again, and I do not stop until I have completed these visual exercises to their fullest.

Music and Imagery
Music makes a difference! It gets you in the mood, gives you power, and after a while when you hear the music, you will easily see your images. You will react like a Pavlovian dog, only I don't think you will drool. Music will bring you a healing ambiance and when combined with your healing images, the result will be powerfully positive. You will feel as though you have been to a mind gym doing mind exercises, and it will in turn create an overall feeling of health and physical empowerment.

Juggling Imagery
I found that if I just visualized my white blood cells going up, my red blood cell count would drop. So I would concentrate on my red cells, doing the "Red Blood Cell Blort Bump" again and again." Then my red blood cell count would go up, and my white blood cells would drop. So I had to do both visualizations alternatively to keep a good blood balance in my system. Sometimes, I was juggling so many blood building visualizations that my only solution was to create an entirely new one that envigorated my entire bone marrow and immune system. Juggling can wear out an already tired mind, so I suggest having one such as I just described when you feel overwhelmed by all the imagery work you need to do!

Imagery Burnout
Doing repetitive visualizations can be exhausting and requires a great deal of concentration, especially during times of illness, fatigue and pain. This is also a time when you depend on your visualizations most, and like physical exercises, you may experience what is called "overdoing" or "burnout." When this happens, you may not be able to conjure up your images at all, you may fall asleep during them, or your images may become stagnant. When this happens, for a few days, either take a complete break or simply imagine an overall feeling of health. When you return to a regular routine of mind exercises, your mental images should flow smoothly again.

Create Your Own Images!

Most people prefer to create their own visualizations, and they are usually the most effective when they come from your own mind. To create the most powerful images, they should include the following characteristics.

Visualize cancer cells as confused, fragile losers.
Cancer cells must be seen a feeble, soft entities that are easily removed or destroyed.

Visualize cancer cells as weaker than the treatment.
It is a more positive and supportive to see your treatment as being a friend who is helping you remove or destroy cancer cells. This team effort will give you a healthy feeling of empowerment, and has been known to reduce the side effects of the treatment.

Visualize healthy cells as strong enough to recover from any damage caused by the treatment.
The treatment cannot distinguish the healthy cells from the cancer cells, so it is important to give your healthy cells a sort of coat of armor to shield themselves from the effect of the treatment.

Visualize White Blood Cells as highly energized, intelligent, resilient entities capable of removing or destroying cancer cells.
White Blood Cells must be seen as youthful creatures that are in great abundance throughout your body, and your visualization must be one that allows these creatures to sweep through your body victoriously.

Visualize White Blood Cells as overtaking the cancer cells.
White Blood Cells are a major part of your immune system needed to protect you from disease, so it is essential that you create a strong and powerful visualization for this area. It should be one that you can continue even after all treatment is over to keep you in a healthy state.

Visualize the cancer cells being destroyed and removed from the body.
Images must remove the build-up of dead cells by incorporating the body's natural resources.

Be sure each visualization leaves your system free of cancer cells.
This reinforces your belief that you will survive, You must believe that you will be the winner, and that you will once again be healthy and vital.

Visualize that you want to survive, and then plan your future.
It is important that you have a reason to live after treatment is over, and you should imagine that reason over and over. This tells your body that you want and need to live.

Illustrate your visualizations, make them concrete.
Now it is time to create your own images on paper or on a computer as I have done. Seeing your images come to life will help you later when you create them over and over in your mind. They can also be used as reference when you are fatigued and need a jump start doing your visualizations.
