Day 22

Treatment Number 8

Written by Alison Bell

Tuesday 3rd April

I woke up this morning with the sniffles and a bit of a cough. I don't know if it's side effects from the GCSF injections or if I've picked up something else!

I'm pretty tired and I'm guessing my counts are low, but with the injections and my visualizing they should be on the way up. I'm finding myself quite weary at work but I have been shopping for clothes for a wedding too. I need to rest up or I won't have the energy to go.

My new visualizing experiment is to try and energize my body and give it a bit of oomph to get me through the week.

I'm a little concerned about a few new symptoms this week.  My itching is back, not as fierce as before chemo but certainly consistent, and in certain areas only which was what I had as my Hodgkin's symptom. It worries me slightly as there shouldn't be any HD in my system to cause itching. I'm hoping it's the drugs, though the Bleomycin has been stopped and it causes itchiness.

I'm still weaning off the steroids, but am not noticing much weight loss. Or indeed any. I'm just going to have to join a gym when my treatment is over.

We have the technology - just not the willpower!

It is only when we lose control over our bodies that we realize we had any control in the first place - also it's only since getting cancer that I found out how healthy I was aside from cancer. Though I wonder if the amount of chocolate consumption in the last 2 weeks may have put paid to that!

Funny world.
