Day 5

Treatment Number 5 Written by Alison Bell |

Monday 12th Feb.
Back to work on a very miserable Monday. The rain is tipping down the wind is howling and today is my "bad" day.
Basically, starting from my treatment day my head usually gets fuzzier and fuzzier and today, day 6 is the worst. I feel like you do when you've had just one alcoholic drink too many, when it goes from a pleasant warmth to slightly off balance. It is a sort of vertigo like sensation, and it is quite unsettling to be out and about. I'm not entirely sure of the reasons for this side effect.
It is possible that it is the anti-sickness steroids which I take for three days after Chemo, and my body adapting both to them being in my system and then adjusting to coming off them!
This is the first time I've actually had to work on my "off" day, but it hasn't been too bad. This sensation of wooziness makes me feel rather vulnerable and with the wind and rain I'm not relishing the journey home.
I am more tired today and can't wait to get to bed!
