Day 21

Treatment Number 8

Wednesday 28th March

Well, my blood transfusion was today and it went okay - it took 5 hours to absorb two bags of blood.

Interesting that because of this transfusion I found out my blood type is not the one I thought it was! I always thought I was the same as my mother but it turns out I'm not! The things you discover.

The nurses tell me that I will probably feel the effects in about 48 hours so I will let you know if I am full of life.  I'm hoping that I have the blood of a highly intelligent, sexy, thin, strong will-powered person all of which will be absorbed and completely transform me. But I guess feeling less tired will do.

I also had my second massage today which was lovely - a blend of ginger, frankincense and nerioli oils - for nausea, breathing and aching muscles. A gentle massage of my head and neck, my legs which are really achy at the moment, and my back. It was very relaxing and I was even able to do a little visualization while I lay there.

For any chemo patients suffering nausea, you may already incorporate ginger in your diet. I would also highly recommend burning ginger essential oil in a burner it's really effective.

I am visualizing my blood cells in a very medically accurate way at the moment.  I saw a treatment program that had a sort of computer graphic reproduction of blood cells and I now imagine them flowing out of my bone marrow and through my bones into my body and sorting out all the problems. I do sometimes slip back in to my "army of men" mode though.  I'm also using my chemo as a hunt and destroy tool - even though the cancer is gone I have four more treatments and want to use them effectively to clear my body of any Mr Reed cells lurking in hidden corners.

I refuse to relapse!

I start my GCSF injections on Saturday and have decided to try and do them myself.  I have to take them for eight consecutive days and don't really want to ask my neighbor as I would like to have control over the timing. So tune in for the effects of blood transfusion and jabs at the weekend!
