Day 31

ALISON'S LAST TREATMENT !

Treatment Number 12

Written by Alison Bell

Wednesday 23rd May

My last treatment day!

I wore my red wig and took wine for the nurses and generally feel great.

It was an emotional day and I won't really be able to relax completely until my I have my final scans and go back for the all clear. I will then get my line out. Swimming at last ! The weather is hot hot hot and I would love to get in a pool. So in a couple of months I am planning a "got well" party to really say goodbye to my old life.

I have been visualizing a new strong me, and aside from the physical side, I realized today that I am already a good part of the way there.

I am a different person than the one I started this journey as. I am less of worrier! I am stronger. I don't embarrass as easily or if I do, am able to get over it.  I am excited at the prospect that I can do what I want with my life.

I am planning a trip to the US to meet friends I have made through Cancer.

I'm also hoping to do a one woman show in the near future. I need to perform; it is the expression of my creativity, my outlet. When I turned off that outlet I became prone to disease.

So my last day is also my first; the first stage getting physically well and fit, losing the weight I've gained and gaining back my strength.

Then....well, the world is my oyster.
